Must-Read for the "Launching Soon" Stage! A Guide to Designing News Events to Increase Notification Subscriptions
Updated: September 8, 2026
Notification application, limited time, and support signature event
Design Method
What if you held an event and only increased notification applications and did not lead to a funding switch on the first day of the opening? It's probably one of the things that makers are most worried about while preparing for the event. That's why the duration and benefit conditions are the most important when designing an event. If you have decided on an event you want to do according to the progress of my project, I will guide you on how to design it in detail. If you haven't decided which event to choose yet, please check out the 4 new news event types first!
You'll find out when you read this
- How to set the timeframe and benefit conditions for your purpose
- Why Notification Applicants May Not Lead to Funding
- Information that needs to be clarified in a limited-time event
- the criteria for determining the prize and the number of winners according to the budget
What you need to decide before the event product
When designing an event, the first thing you choose is not a gift. Answer the following four questions first.
What do you want to increase?
Choose between notification application, initial payment, external sharing, and reviews.Until when do I have to participate?
Decide whether it is the entire scheduled opening, 72 hours after opening, or a separate period. What actions should I complete?
Determine the actions necessary to apply for notification, participate in funding, sign support, and write reviews. What are you going to check?
After the event, check for indicators such as goals.
If you have set the purpose-period-benefit conditions and indicators to match the answer to the question, please make sure this is included in the event plan. You can use it as a checklist element before the event is released.

① Notification Application Event
The participation process of the notification application event can be organized as follows. What's important here is how far you'll benefit the person who's finished.
- Click Notification Application
- Participate in funding after the opening of this Funding
- Authenticate with comments if necessary
If the purpose is to increase the number of notification applicants, the notification application itself can be a major action. However, if you want to limit the benefits to actual funding participants, you need to clearly write down the notification application + participation in funding.
Example of creating a notification application event
Subject: [Notification Application Event] 1 minute participation ○○ 100% gift
Hello, this is Maker ○○. As soon as we opened the scheduled opening, we prepared a small event with gratitude for your support.
How to Participate
① Click Notification Application on this page
② Participate in funding after the opening of this FundingBenefit
We give 100% ○○ to those who have completed both steps.Period
Scheduled opening date - Main funding end dateIf you apply for a notification, we will send you a notification on the day we open it. If you don't want to miss out on the benefits, please apply now.
As an example, please show how to participate, benefit targets, and duration apart from each other. If supporters have to find conditions in long sentences, the process of participation can also feel difficult.
② a limited-time event
It is an event that benefits supporters who participate 72 hours immediately after the opening or until the set end date. Early bird and open run are also in the same category. This is the event where the difference in performance is most evident.

Between January 2025 and August 2026, compared to about 20,000 projects with more than 100 notification applications, projects with limited-time events all performed remarkably well compared to projects without events. What this event does is direct the notification application collected from ① to payment. This is because it creates a reason for the supporters who apply for notification to say, "If it's now, you won't get it."
Take four things with you when designing.
- Write down the end time to the date and time. "Until this week" doesn't work. You have to write "○Monday ○ Day by 2pm" so that supporters can decide now
- Use the same event name in the story, reward name, and news. You have to repeat your name before you remember it
- One day before the end, and one more time before the end
- We only give benefits to supporters who have completed the payment within the period. You can't just express your intention to participate
The benefits are more than the price
Starting with "Who do I need it from?"
You can choose the event products based on two criteria.
- Does the project's target want to
- Is it good to use with rewards
If you provide a vertical mouse as a reward, the wrist protector is a product that the target may be interested in, and the mouse pad is a product that can be used with the reward. Depending on the purpose, the amount of the product and the number of winners can be configured differently.
- How to lower the unit price of the product and increase the number of winners if the purpose is to increase awareness or new participation
- How to increase the unit price of the product and reduce the number of winners if you want to benefit the payment participants more
Even if you have a small budget, you don't have to just look at the price of the product. It is information that determines how many people can receive it and what the winning conditions are. Don't miss out on the following when guiding the event with the new news.
- Product name and quantity
- Winners or recipients
- duration of participation
- How to Participate
- winner's announcement date
- When to provide benefits
Event, don't feel pressured to do it
The always-picture maker, which funded the iPad drawing brush and class, did not run the event big at once, but divided it into several news. In the scheduled opening, the notification application event was issued in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd installments, and different gifts were provided for each new news. Thanks to that, this project has attracted 2,144 notification applicants. On the day of the opening, we held a 72-hour participation event, and then every time we achieved 5,000%, 7,000%, and 8,000%, we issued new pledge news.
One thing to refer to in this case is that the events were divided into sections.
- Apply for notification when it is scheduled to open
- Participation for 72 hours on the day of opening
- Promise to achieve the goal while the project is in progress
Instead of spending all your budget on one big product, you can create materials to send news from different sections of the project by dividing a small event into several news. The experience group needs a separate recruitment, selection, and delivery schedule. Please check the operation guide of the experience group.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. If there are 380 notification applications, how many payers should I expect?
A. In the project that gathered more than 100 notification applications, the median ratio of supporters to notification applications was 5.9%. 7.9% of the projects used limited-time events. If it's 380 people, it's about 22 to 30 people. However, the denominator of this ratio includes supporters who participated without applying for notification, so you should not read it at the conversion rate of notification applicants alone. When setting a goal, use it only as a baseline, and I don't recommend assuming a high conversion rate like 10-20%.
Q. Is there a way to increase the conversion rate compared to the notification application?
A. Take a look at two things first. First, if the benefit conditions are only for the notification application, change it to 'Notification application + participation in funding'. Second, make a "reason to pay now" by holding a limited-time event on the day of the opening. The project that did these two had a higher percentage of supporters compared to those that did not (7.9% vs. 5.4%).
Q. How should I tell you to press the notification request to be natural?
A. Say what supporters get rather than ask. Rather than "Please apply for a notification", "If you apply for a notification, we will send you a notification on the day we open it." If you don't want to miss out on the early bird benefits, please press it now." From a supporter's point of view, notification application is not a request, but a device that does not miss out on benefits.
Q. Can I call multiple events at the same time?
A. It's possible. However, don't ask for multiple actions in one news. As in the case of Chapter 4, it is better to participate if you divide the episodes and post them over several cases. Set a purpose for each event and look at the indicators to check separately.
Q. If the scheduled opening period is short, how do you reduce the event?
A. Please leave a notification event. And hold a limited-time event on the day of the opening. These two are the minimum configurations. The experience group must be recruited and delivered before the release, so it is impossible to do so in a short period of time. For the order and interval of issuance, please refer to the method of writing new news and the standard of the issuance cycle.
