At Cafe Da-Yongdosil, which opened in 2018, coffee, music, people, and tastes come together.
Nine years of creating a space while doing many things I wanted to do.
I have captured that time in a single book.
A person who dreamed of being a musician opened a cafe.
I always dreamed of becoming a musician.
After moving between reality and dreams, I wanted to keep my favorite music close for a long time, so I dreamed of a space and opened the door to Da-Yongdosil in a small alley in my hometown, Eunpyeong.
Da-Yongdosil is a cafe that serves coffee and a small multi-cultural space where you can freely express the things you love.
I do many things I want to do.
I held performances, organized flea markets, and created exhibitions and gatherings.
People met each other, and their tastes blended together.
Just like its name, 'Da-Yongdosil' is a space that does not stay with a single purpose.
In this way, countless people and stories have accumulated in the small cafe over nine years.
A part of Da-Yongdosil that I love and cherish.
A part of Da-Yongdosil that allows me to do many things I want to do.
Sometimes, Da-Yongdosil feels as if it has entered a sentence.
And at times, Da-Yongdosil feels as if it has entered a musical note.
I have recorded the nine years I wanted to spend kindly in a book.
Doing what you love between ideals and reality is not always enjoyable.
However, the people I met while running the space, the tastes I accumulated one by one because of them, the countless fun events that happened along the way, and the process of sometimes stopping, yet moving forward and regaining my motivation—all these layers have made the joyful memories stand out more clearly than the difficult ones.
This book is not a success story about opening a cafe or a guide to operating one.
It is a nine-year record of Da-Yongdosil Cafe, run by someone like me who wants to keep what I love close and for a long time.

I am someone who always wants to try many things and keeps starting new projects.
I always dreamed of becoming a musician, but ended up opening a cafe in my hometown, Eunpyeong, a small alley often called the countryside of Seoul.
Since opening Cafe Da-Yongdosil in 2018, I have not only brewed coffee but also planned performances, flea markets, exhibitions, and gatherings.
I wanted to keep doing what I love for a long time. In this way, I have welcomed countless neighbors in the same place for nine years.
I have recorded the people, hearts, and memories that have stayed in this space in a single book.
I will greet you kindly again today.
Project Budget
The project's target amount was set at 1,000,000 KRW, taking into account all costs for printing, binding, goods production, packaging, and shipping.1,000,000 KRW was set as the goal.
Any remaining funds after editing, designer fees, book production, goods production, packaging, and shipping will be used for the publisher's labor costs. Any shortfall will be covered by the publisher.

Editing and design work for the book are in the final stages, but due to the nature of project Funding, it is necessary to determine the production quantity of the book and goods,Production will proceed after achieving 100% Funding and closing. This will be done.
