Don't leave your child only in photos.
We capture our child's growth in countless photos.
But how much do we record about what our child is imagining or thinking right now?
Photos capture your child's appearance.
Writing captures your child's thoughts and imagination.
This time, instead of a page that will be written and forgotten,
Leave a real page of a book that your child imagined, expressed in their own words, and completed with feedback.
Leave a real page of a book.

Your child's story becomes a real book.

Creative Writing & Publishing Project for Elementary, Middle, and High School Students
Imagine → Write → Feedback → Rewrite → Translate → Publish a Korean-English Book
This is not a project where one student writes an entire book.
Different children each complete their own story, and these works come together to form one book, THE WHITE PRESS Vol.7.
The completed works are published as a bilingual Korean-English book.
It will be published with an official ISBN and, after publication, will be sold like a regular book on Kyobo Bookstore online, so anyone can purchase it directly.
Your child's name and story will be included in a real book available at bookstores.

This WHITE PRESS Vol.7 theme:

What if animals could talk?
What stories would they tell us?
It can be a familiar animal like a dog or a cat.
You can create a completely new animal that does not exist anywhere in the world.
This project

Creating My Own Talking Animal
begins here.
What does it look like? What is its name? Where does it live? What is its personality? Does it have any special abilities? What does it like, and what does it fear?

If this animal could talk to us, what kind of story would it want to share?
What if a dog abandoned by humans could speak?
What if a zoo animal had something to say to the people who watch it every day?
What if an animal on the brink of extinction could leave humans with one last message?
One imagination becomes a question, and that question becomes a story.

This is not just about writing simple animal stories.

To create a character, you must imagine the world in which that character lives.
And for a moment, you must step out of your own shoes and see the world through the eyes of another being.
For elementary students, it is an experience to freely imagine and create their own worlds and stories.

Middle and high school students take it a step further.
Friendship · Relationships · Environment · Freedom · Prejudice · Loneliness · Coexistence · Society
They can ask questions about topics they are interested in, establish their own perspectives, and develop their stories more deeply.
Writing that begins with imagination and expands into the power of thought.
That is the experience that 《TALKING ANIMALS》 wants to create.

Start with the language you can express yourself best in.
Korean is also good.
English is also good.
The child chooses one language in which they can express their thoughts and imagination most freely.
Works written in Korean go through feedback and revision, then are translated into English.
Works written in English go through feedback and revision, then are translated into Korean.
And all works
Korean + English
Are completed as bilingual Korean-English books containing both languages.
Before language, we will listen to the child's story.

It is not finished after writing just once.

Writing is an exercise in thinking.
Writing is not simply about creating beautiful sentences.
It is about organizing scattered thoughts in your mind,
What do I want to say?
discovering that,
and expressing those thoughts so that others can understand them.

The ability to structure thoughts forms the foundation for logically explaining and expressing your opinions.
For elementary students, it is the beginning of imagination and self-expression,
and for teenagers, it leads to experiences of forming their own perspectives, logic, and even a unique philosophical worldview.

From a child who imagines, to a child who thinks.
From a child who thinks, to a child who expresses.
And finally,
As an author who publishes a book under their own name.

What The White Press wants to create is not just a simple book-making experience.
It is the experience of a child fully developing their own ideas and completing them as a single work.
And then presenting that work to the real world.
The experience of becoming an author.
And the experience of having your writing reach someone else.

One A4 page is enough.
There is no need to write a long novel.
A single story of about one A4 page is sufficient.
It is okay if it is a little shorter or longer.
Any elementary, middle, or high school student who wants to create their own story can participate.

How do I submit my manuscript?
After completing your participation in the project, we will provide separate instructions on how to submit your manuscript and the email address.

Once you receive the email,By October 28,
Children who find it difficult to type or use documents can take a photo of their handwritten work and send it.
Please write in the language your child feels most comfortable expressing themselves in, either Korean or English.

The experience does not end with just one book.
The White Press will continue the Young Author Project with new themes each time.
This Vol.7 is 《TALKING ANIMALS》, but in the next book, you will encounter new questions and a new world.
Each time the theme changes, children imagine something new, encounter new questions, and express their thoughts in writing again.

It's not just a one-time publishing experience,
It is an experience of continuously thinking, writing, and growing as a Young Writer who communicates with the world.
This is why The White Press continues to publish books.

But will it really be published as a book?
Yes. This is not the first time.
The White Press has published five official ISBN books so far.
The manuscript collection for Vol.6 has also been completed, and through this project, we are preparing the seventh book.

We use publishing to connect voices that might otherwise never meet.
We connect voices that might never have met through publishing.

So we do not end with just publishing.
What The White Press wants to create is not just a book with my child's name in it.
The finished book is sold on Kyobo Bookstore online and meets real readers.
And a portion of the profits generated after the project is reinvested into books.
The White Press directly purchases books and delivers them to children overseas and in local communities.

The books published so far have also been donated to places in need, such as Cambodia, the Philippines, and local community organizations.

Until the day my child's book is read by children all over the world,

Someone may discover worries similar to their own and find comfort.
Someone may, for the first time, encounter the thoughts of a child living in a completely different environment.

And someone might read that one page,
Should I give it a try too?
and gain a little courage.
Not just becoming a writer, but experiencing the act of giving hope and challenge to someone through your own writing.
That is another reason why The White Press creates books with children.

An experience of imagination.
The experience of expressing thoughts in writing.
The experience of receiving feedback.
The experience of rethinking and revising your own writing.
The experience of connecting your work in two languages.
And
The experience of seeing your story become a page in an official ISBN book.

A few years later, open this book again with your child.
You can revisit the world your child saw and imagined at that time.

Starting with preserving our child's story,
To a book that brings hope and inspiration to someone else.
A single page from our child,
Becomes courage for another child.

Imagine it. Write it. Rewrite it. Publish it.
