Duck Boots were first created in 1911 in Maine, USA, by Leon Leonwood Bean, an outdoor enthusiast and duck hunter.
Since then, many brands have reinterpreted and released various versions to this day.

[Excerpt from Maeil Newspaper: Origin of Duck Boots]
We rarely have the need to hunt ducks, so we reinterpreted them to suit our circumstances.
That is exactly the city sensibility.

A reinterpretation of 'Duck Boots' with a city sensibility!

There are several techniques used in handmade shoe production.
The most common technique is the cement method. Most shoes in Korea use the cement method. This method attaches the upper and outsole with adhesive, making it specialized for mass production due to time efficiency. Currently, more than 90% of handmade shoes use the cement method.
However, we produced our shoes using the Goodyear Welt method, which is a higher-level technique than the cement method.

The method we commonly encounter is the 'cement method,' which bonds the upper and outsole with glue, but the 'Goodyear Welt method' fills cork between the insole and outsole and stitches them together with sturdy thread instead of adhesive. Traditionally, the 'Goodyear Welt method' is the technique chosen by premium shoes.

The Goodyear Welt method is a shoe-making technique developed in 1879 by Charles Goodyear Jr. in the United States. In short, it connects the upper, insole, and outsole by stitching them together.

The calluses on the hands of artisans who stitch thick leather by hand speak to the dedication and quality of the shoes!
Because the thick leather, welt, and outsole are stitched together by hand, the shoes are highly durable and can be worn for a long time. Additionally, they can be crafted into three-dimensional shoe shapes.

Cork is inserted under the insole, which gradually molds to the shape of your foot the more you wear the shoes, offering a powerful feature.
While the 'cement method' involves five steps, the 'Goodyear Welt method' has more than ten steps, making the manual process quite demanding and complex.

It is a highly demanding process that involves stitching with an awl-like needle and then stitching again with a welt machine. The outsole is finished with sharp, fast-rotating equipment.
The process is complex and risky, so it may be very slow. However, there is pride in the fact that only true masters among Korean shoemakers can use this method.

FNA
Q. How do I choose the size?
A. Sizes are available in increments of 10, from 240 to 290.
Size PICK: Same as dress shoe size, or go down one size. (Dress shoes 270~275: choose 270)
Q. Can I exchange or return the product?
A. After receiving the Reward from Wadiz, size exchanges are possible if requested within 7 days.
Also, refunds due to product defects or quality issues are possible if requested within 7 days. (However, packages and gifts must be kept in their original condition, and returns are not accepted if the shoes have been worn outside or are excessively creased.)
# We comply with the Electronic Commerce Act.
# Due to the nature of genuine leather, small pores in the leather are not defects but a natural characteristic.
Q. How do I wash (care for) the product?
A. Because it is made of 100% genuine cowhide, we recommend brushing off dust or dirt with a clean brush and using shoe wax (cream).
If your shoes get wet in the rain, dry them in the shade and roll up newspaper or similar material to place inside to remove moisture.
Tip. When using shoe cream, rubbing hard with a sponge may cause smudging or discoloration on alcohol-brushed or patina-finished shoes. It is best to gently wipe as if dusting off.
#For suede, use a brush or shoe brush to remove dust and arrange the nap.
Q. Is A/S (after-sales service) available?
A. General A/S is free within one year after receiving the Reward (such as loose stitching or general adhesive issues). However, consumables and sole replacement will incur a fee.
(You can apply through the official Brenowelt website.)
